Sourav is the Icon of Kolkata and India. Sourav is the man he is. Will remain so always, whether he is in Team India or not. I do not think I am equipped enough to fill those details. I have never played, so who am I to criticize the Great Player that he was. He Captained 49 Test Matches. Built so many Teams for India. Chosen so many youngsters. That is the man we are discussing. Sum Total, he was 9.9 as a Player. The .1 is for the fielding. He did let the Team down at times in fielding area. But his play balanced out in the other ways he gave back positively. But then, no man is perfect. Not even the great Tendulkar or Bradman. As for the person, there too he is 9.5. The .5 is what made him give back to his opponents. The .5 is for all the controversies he got into by rubbing the wrong people. Had he been a perfect 10, he would not have been able to the likes of shane Warne and the Aussies. He stood up to them all. See the difference in stature. He looked so tiny in comparison, yet he was "Mighty" in comparison. Is why his opponents did not like him. As they were afraid of this Captain who could turn Matches in favor of India. He as a Captain put India on the Cricket Map of the World. ---------------------------- Since this is the Q, here goes: ) captain 10 2) batsman 10 3) bowler 10 4) fielder 9.9 5) person 9.5

The restuarant is called " Sourav's".

The food pavilion has four restaurants under one roof - One Day, Over Boundary, Maharaj and the Prince of Calcutta.

One Day - the Coffee Shop, located on the first floor, symbolises teamwork and friendship and can accommodate 110 people.

Over Boundary - the multi-cuisine restaurant - illustrates the "vigorous years that went into the making of the Indian captain,"

Maharaj, the 70-seater restaurant, is for vegetarians and provide a complete family experience, with a separate section carved out only for children.

Prince of Calcutta - is the the lounge bar

It is located in little Russel street.Just opposite The Park Hotel in Park Street.

1) captain--------9.5 He took over the captaincy at a time when the team was struggling with confidence, fans had lost the faith (remember the whole scandalous controversy in 2000) He took over and just "transformed" the team into a spirited unit of players who would give their best effort if the captain give them a role such was his way of inspiring his team . He gave chance to the younger players over himself and sacrificed his batting many times going down the order because he would keep more attention into team strategies, holding the team together, managing the players and all this yielded result. India made new records as a team, many abroad victories cam under Ganguly's captaincy. 2) batsman-----------9 The "God of off side" as its quoted, played with such elegance and ease that he wouldn't even give the impression if he actually mae any effort in playing those shots. He has been criticized for being vulnerable to short pitch deliveries but SURPRISINGLY in his last 2 years of batting he actually seemed to have gotten over this and played it with a confident and positive technique. His approach after his comeback has displayed a character which is to be taken inspiration from. His determination. He made the best opening pair in ODIs along with Sachin is undoubtedly one of the best left handed batsmen. 3) bowler------- 6.5 he's one of the only 3 players in history (others being Jayasuriya and Sachin) who made 10000 runs along with taking "100 WICKETS" even when I feel he's been an under-utilized bowler, has bowled some superb spells that I've seen. Ok he didn't had the PACE in his bowling but the WAY he bowled, the attitude, it just seemed like its the fastest delivery every time he rotated his arm (not joking), maybe that was the effect of his aggression or precence and he troubled the best of batsmen with his bowling too whenever he got the chance to bowl. 4) fielder--------- 7 Actually I don't really know why he's considered a "bad fielder" He was quite decent *I remember some amazing catches taken by him, and if you can recall the moment when he took that catch of Yousuf (I think) in Pakistan, diving to his back and Greg Chappell was watching from the dressing room, expression on his face was like -"did I commented on his fielding, really"! Maybe he tends to be "lazy" (a perception) when running behind the ball, but if its a catch to be taken or fielding from his standing position then he could take some of the most difficult ones, doesn't hesitate to jump or get rubbed on the ground, only problem I see was when he had to CHASE the ball. 5) person-------9.999......................... because no one is ALLOWED to be perfect in this world)
